The following list includes donors and grantors who contributed to the work of the South Whidbey Commons in 2010 and 2011. We update this list continually and apologize for any errors or omissions. Please send corrections to us via the contact page on this site.
The Boeing Employee Community Fund granted more than $20,000 toward equipment that was used for the Commons extensive remodel.
Don helped with the upgrade of our kitchen, advised us on the building of our new storage room, and lent us equipment.
Cynthia Tilkin was instrumental in determining interior design and color selections for the entire 2010 remodel.
Cathy Rooks, of Inspired Gardens, designed, installed, and continues to oversee all the Commons’ landscaping.
Greg Gilles, of Kamera & Gilles Carpentry Inc., served as the general contractor of the Commons’ extensive remodel.

Puget Sound Energy donated $2,000 to assist with the Commons’ workplace training program.
Robert Long, of R.L. Construction, graded and provided gravel for the Commons’ parking areas.
Ross Chapin contributed the design for the Commons’ extensive remodel and served as the project architect.
Symbols & Signs donated all of the Commons’ signage.
The South Whidbey Kiwanis Club donated $500 to support the Commons’ AmeriCorps program.

The South Whidbey Rotary Club awarded a community grant of $500 for workplace training.
The Soroptimists awarded a $500 grant for workplace training.

Gene and Tamar Felton, owners of the Star Store designed, financed, and oversaw the construction of the wall on our shared property.

Larry Lowary and Gerry Betz, of Tree-Top Bakers have provided ongoing financial support totaling nearly $2,000.

In 2010, Whidbey Island Bank donated $5,000 to help defray the cost of the Commons’ extensive remodel, and in 2011, it awarded another $5,000 in challenge funds to help the Commons retire the debt incurred from the remodel.
The Whidbey Island Garden Tour selected the South Whidbey Commons as one of the recipients of its Garden Tour Grants for three consecutive years for a total of $1,800.
The Virginia Wellington Cabot Foundation awarded a $500 matching grant to the Commons.

Whidbey Telecom donated $1,000 and also provides ongoing DSL and phone service for the Commons.
Ken Kramer (Whidbey Door Systems), Lance Moore (Lance Moore Electric), Les Asplund, Scotty Mohn (Mohn Painting), (Hemperly and Babbage Designs Ltd.) and Vic Hanson (Hanson’s Building Supply) supported the work of the Commons’ 2010 remodel.
Brackenwood Gallery, China City, ., Donald Heggenes (Donald Heggenes Construction), and Dr. Robert Jangaard helped support the installation of new landscaping by purchasing pavers for outside walkways.
